Garage door repair in Boca Raton

Boca Raton is the first city north of the Broward line, and that line matters more than most contractors admit — it changes which building code your door has to meet.

The county line changes the code

Broward sits inside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. Boca Raton does not. Palm Beach County works to a lower design wind speed, around 160 to 170 mph, and product is certified under Florida Product Approval rather than requiring a Miami-Dade NOA.

So a door perfectly legal in Boca would not be approved eight miles south in Deerfield, and a contractor quoting you HVHZ requirements here is quoting the wrong county. We work both sides of that line every week, which is exactly why we know which set applies to your address.

Country clubs and the gatehouse

Boca organises itself by community rather than by neighbourhood — Boca West, Broken Sound, Woodfield, St. Andrews, Royal Palm. Each has a guardhouse and each management office wants insurance and a licence number on file before a contractor comes through.

We keep both current and send them ahead. It is the difference between a same-day repair and a rescheduled one.

Salt, east of the Intracoastal

East Boca takes real coastal exposure and hardware corrodes accordingly. We fit galvanized coastal-grade springs and cables there as standard, and inspect the cable drums even when that is not what you called about. West of Military Trail it eases and standard hardware performs as rated.

Boca Raton questions

Is Boca Raton in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone?

No. The HVHZ covers Miami-Dade and Broward only. Boca Raton is in Palm Beach County, which works to a design wind speed around 160 to 170 mph with Florida Product Approval rather than a required Miami-Dade NOA.

You are based in Broward. Do you actually cover Boca?

Yes, and working both sides of the county line is an advantage rather than a drawback — we know which code applies to your address instead of assuming.

Can you get into the country club communities?

Yes. We keep a current certificate of insurance and our contractor licence ready to send to management offices across Boca.
